We are concerned about your dog’s general health and grooming, and we are now sharing with you readers and dog lovers the best natural ear cleaner recipes. These are natural and effective for the health of your pet’s ears and would even act as a great cure during general infections. Try these out yourself and include them in your dog’s regular grooming routine, rather than opting for the commercial ear cleaners, treated with crude chemical available in the pet store.
Dog Ear Cleaner with Alcohol and Boric Acid
- Boric acid – ½ tsp
- Alcohol – 3-4 drops
- Povidone iodine (optional) – 3-4 drops
How to make
Add all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Use this as a wipe to clean the inside of your dog’s ears, especially after swimming.
In case your dog (or you) does not like the scent of the iodine, you can skip this ingredient.
Natural dog ear infection remedy
- Apple cider vinegar – 1/3rd cup
- Lukewarm water – 2/3rd cup
How to make
Mix the two and clean the visible part of the dog’s ear. Use a soft cotton ball or a piece of clean cloth.
Easy homemade treatment for dog ear wax
If your dog has wax buildup in its ears, the remedy is simple! All you need is just a little bit of almond/mineral/olive oil. Just pour in a few drops of the oil inside your dog’s ears and wait until the oil does the rest of the job, loosening the hard waxes inside. Allow your dog to shake its head so that the oil spreads inside its ears. Later, use a soft piece of cloth or a ball of cotton to clean up.
Ear infection remedy with Hydrogen Peroxide Cleaner
- White vinegar – 1 cup
- 2% Hydrogen Peroxide – 1 cup
- Alcohol – approx. 1 tsp
Any medicated flush with antibiotic (optional, if only your dog shows infection symptoms like constant ear scratching etc.)
How to make
Pour all the ingredients in a bottle having a nozzle. Shake well and mix. Pour this home remedy solution in your dog’s and puppy’s ears as and when required for a perfect cleaning. As discussed, use a soft cloth or a cotton ball to do so. This solution cures general and yeast infections quickly.
Try making the above ear cleaners at home, apply them on your doggie and let us know about your experience.
